We currently have openings for onsite System/Network Administrators I/II. In this capacity, you will be a member of a cross-functional technical team responsible for maintaining all aspects of a 24×7 servers, network and applications near 100% system availability, proactive security, desk-top support, and other duties as may be required.

Your goal will be to ensure that our customers’ technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.

Responsibilities 

  • Installing and configuring software, hardware and networks
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
  • Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Manage network servers and technology tools
  • Deep understanding in Microsoft server operating system
  • AWS AND Azure cloud services and migration skills and experience
  • VM and Hyper-V deep experience
  • Set up accounts and workstations
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
  • Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and inhouse servers
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
  • Keep an eye out for needed updates
  • Ability to successfully multitask several assignments without loss of quality or budget overruns
  • Support and administer third-party applications
  • Ensure network security and connectivity
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
  • Setup user accounts, permissions and passwords
  • Resolve problems reported by end users
  • Define network policies and procedures
  • Specify system requirements and design solutions
  • Research and make recommendations on server system administration

Technical Skills

  • BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline like NSCC degrees
  • Holding Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is an asset
  • Holding networking certificates like CCNA, CCNP is an asset
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in MS Windows severs and products
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in networking and internetworking technologies
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other languages
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Recent experience working in a 24×7 network/technical environment including desktop and customer support
  • A core set of troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge that can yield timely results without delay
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
